In Philadelphia, he met printer Isaac Collins in 1729. At the end of that year, Franklin supported the Athenian Society for promoting literature, science, and arts.

In brief, Franklin was elected to the Freemasonry by 1728. He received the Scottish Rite and moved to Philadelphia around this time by 1730.
